Preliminary Schedule :

• April 26 and 27, 2011: Oral sessions
• April 28, 2011: Choice of one of three field trips (held jointly with the 4th Fossil Preparation and Collections Symposium):

  • Upper Eocene Bridger Formation: A full-day excursion to the fossiliferous Bridger badlands near Mountain View, Wyoming, emphasizing potential impacts of industrial development on paleontological resources.
    Lower Eocene Green River Formation: Geology of the Fossil Basin member (a half day in near-shore and/or a half-day in deep-water environments) and a review of large-scale excavation techniques, complete with the opportunity to collect specimens.
    Cretaceous Adaville Formation: A half-day tour of coal-bearing units and associated fossil leaves, dinosaur tracks, and amber at the Chevron-owned Kemmerer Coal Mine outside Kemmerer, Wyoming.

• Please note! Motel rooms in Kemmerer are currently in high demand. Be sure to reserve a room early!

Registration :

• A registration fee of $100 will cover access to all conference events, a hard copy of the conference proceedings, and a commemorative pin. Students may register at the discounted rate of $60.
• If you also plan to attend the 4th Fossil Preparation and Collections Symposium, which will be held in Kemmerer from April 28-30, 2011, you can register for both conferences for a single fee of $160 ($100 for students).
• Please register by the deadline of Monday, 28 March 2011. Late registrants will be charged an extra $40.

4th Fossil Preparation & Collections Symposium · 2011 Fossil Butte National Monument will also be hosting the 4th Fossil Preparation and Collections Symposium in Kemmerer, Wyoming immediately after the CFR, from 28-30 April, 2011. For more information, click here.
